Kaliakoir is a city in Gazipur district in central Bangladesh. It is located north-west from Dhaka and west to Gazipur. It is the headquarters of Kaliakoir upazila and the third largest city in Gazipur district. It is the 27th largest city in Bangladesh with a total population of 27.5 sq km and a population of 20,6 people. [4] One of the easiest ways to connect the northern region with Dhaka is through the National Highway, which crosses the N1 City, which is connected by the Jamuna Bridge.

The exact history of the nomenclature of Kaliakir is not known. However, according to information available to the public, there was a large snake called Kaliya Nag in a pond. The name of Kaliyakair is named after Kaliyag's Kaliya and Poora's Kaira, respectively.

 

Geography

The capital of Kaliyakir is located 6 km north of Dhaka and 20 km northwest of Gazipur. It is located at 25 north latitude to 25 north latitude and 5 east longitude to 1222 longitude. Its total area is 23.5 sq km.
